Head of Asia Pacific Media & Internet Research, Nomura
Daisaku Masuno has been covering the Japanese telecom sector since 2000 and is head of Asia-Pacific media & internet research. From 1998 to 2000 he covered US telecom and telecom equipment companies, where he observed global M&A movements and the birth of internet services as an industry. He has served on committees for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. He aims to cover the whole range of companies involved in telecommunications, not only the carriers but also infrastructure and equipment makers, internet and other service providers, content providers, and retailers.
Daisaku is a graduate of Waseda University’s School of Political Science and Economics and holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a CFA charter. He joined Nomura Research Institute in 1988. Daisaku has placed first in the Nikkei Veritas Rankings 10 times in the past 13 years and has been first in the Institutional Investor Rankings for the last 9 years in a row.
